Ripple Treasury’s $13 Trillion Still Runs on Bank Rails
Ripple Treasury’s $13 trillion tracks GTreasury corporate payments on bank rails as the platform prepares for Sibos 2026 in Miami.
Ripple said its treasury platform facilitated $13 trillion in payments volume in 2025. XRP traders are reading that print as a token catalyst. It is a corporate cash figure from software GTreasury already ran for large companies, which is why the XRP chart treated it as a non-event.
Grape, an XRP Ledger validator, put the number back in circulation on September 7, 2026, alongside a map that places SWIFT, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs around Ripple Treasury. The company will show that platform at Sibos in Miami from September 28 to October 1. The map is real. The leap from treasury software to XRP settlement is the part that does not follow.
The $13 Trillion Was Already Moving
Ripple announced a $1 billion purchase of GTreasury on October 16, 2025, and later folded the Chicago treasury-management vendor into a product branded Ripple Treasury. GTreasury’s own about copy, repeated in Ripple’s deal notice, said the firm was trusted by more than 1,000 customers across 160 countries. Hg, the private-equity seller, said the platform already powered trillions of dollars in yearly payments when the deal was signed.
That is the book behind the headline. It is invoice files, payroll, vendor wires, netting and cash-position reports, routed through banks the customers already used. Ripple’s April 1, 2026 product notice is the company source for the rounded $13 trillion figure for 2025, covering clients from smaller firms to Fortune 500 names.
THE 2025 TREASURY BOOK
- Payment volume: Ripple said the platform handled $13 trillion in 2025.
- Customer base: More than 1,000 companies in 160 countries, per Ripple and Hg.
- Product age: More than 40 years of GTreasury treasury software, now rebadged.
- On-chain share: Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s CEO, told a Consensus 2026 audience in Miami that none of that book had moved on crypto rails.
Grape named Coca-Cola, American Airlines and Black and Decker among the 1,100 clients on his list. Those names describe companies that already ran a treasury system, not companies that settled $13 trillion in XRP. American Airlines also showed up in Garlinghouse’s Miami example of a slow fuel payment in Peruvian sol, still stuck on a correspondent bank.
Ripple did not buy a new flow of token volume in October. It bought the screen where corporate finance teams already approve cash, then started wiring digital-asset products into that screen.
What J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs Do Here
J.P. Morgan supplies an account-balance feed so treasurers can see cash, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management supplies a money-market portal called Mosaic. SWIFT sits on the same partner list as a certified messaging hookup GTreasury had used for years, not as a new XRP settlement treaty. The $13 trillion still clears on those older rails unless a treasurer picks a different path.
Ripple Treasury’s public partner copy is blunt about the jobs. The firm is in the SWIFT Certified Partner Program and hosts Alliance Lite2, with SWIFTRef data for IBAN and ABA checks inside the workflow. Fides extends multi-bank links over SWIFT, EBICS, SFTP and APIs. None of that language describes XRP as the settlement asset.
THE BANK NAMES ON THE MAP
| Partner | Job on Ripple Treasury | What moves |
|---|---|---|
| SWIFT | Certified Partner Program, Alliance Lite2 hosting, SWIFTRef lookups | Bank payment messages and reference data |
| J.P. Morgan | J.P. Morgan Account Balances API for intraday and historical cash reporting | Fiat balances at cash accounts |
| Goldman Sachs Asset Management | Mosaic platform for money-market and short-duration funds | Liquidity-fund trades and cash investment data |
J.P. Morgan’s write-up on that page is about retrieving balance data for cash reporting accounts, with the bank described as a provider to corporations in over 100 countries. Goldman’s write-up is about Mosaic, an open-architecture portal for money-market and short-duration funds. Those are cash-visibility and cash-investment tools. They are not a statement that either firm is routing the $13 trillion through XRP.
The confusion is easy to manufacture. Put SWIFT, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs on one architecture diagram, drop $13 trillion in the caption, and the image reads like a settlement club. The partner text underneath is a TMS catalog: messages, balances, money funds.
Digital Asset Accounts Went Live in April
The XRP-relevant switch is newer than the volume print. On April 1, 2026, Ripple launched Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury inside the same GTreasury-based system. Treasury teams can open a Ripple-native digital-asset account in the platform and see XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD) in the same structure as cash, valued in real time.
Ripple said several customers were already in beta before that general launch. Product availability still varies by geography, and different Ripple entities may provide the service.
WHAT THE APRIL TOOLS ADD
- Same account view: XRP and RLUSD balances sit beside cash, with live fiat marks from market-data feeds.
- Audit grain: The system records native notional, fiat equivalent and market price at each event, at 15-decimal precision.
- ClearConnect: The same connectivity layer used for banks can attach digital-asset custodians, with activity syncing as it happens.
- No extra window: Ripple’s product line is that teams should not run a separate wallet workflow to hold the assets.
Mark Johnson, VP of global product at Ripple Treasury, said the design rule is that digital assets should behave like cash in the platform, with no separate digital-asset workflow. That is an interface claim. It does not move the 2025 payment file onto the XRP Ledger by itself.
Digital assets have arrived at the CFO’s desk, and the question has shifted from whether to engage to how to do so advantageously without disrupting existing operations.
Renaat Ver Eecke, SVP, Ripple Treasury, April 1, 2026 product launch
Ver Eecke, who was GTreasury’s CEO at the sale and now runs Ripple Treasury as SVP, is selling continuity. The April release also cited Ripple’s 2026 survey of more than 1,000 global finance leaders, in which 72% said they must offer a digital-asset solution to stay competitive. The same notice said stablecoins processed $33 trillion in volume last year, up 72% from 2024, with only a fraction used in payments such as payroll and remittances.
The survey explains why Ripple paid for a TMS. Corporates in that research leaned toward outside providers rather than building in-house. A dashboard they already close the books in is a softer ask than a new chain wallet.
Booth G034 at SWIFT’s Miami Conference
Sibos, SWIFT’s annual wholesale-finance gathering, opens at the Miami Beach Convention Center on September 28, 2026, and runs through October 1. Ripple Treasury, powered by GTreasury, is listed at booth G034. Ripple’s event page puts attendance above 12,000 senior finance executives, bankers and decision-makers. It is the first Miami edition, under the theme Digital Finance for AI-driven Economies.
The official Sibos exhibitor listing for Ripple Treasury describes Ripple as an enterprise shop across payments, custody, liquidity, financing and treasury, and it states that RLUSD and XRP underpin those solutions. That is catalog language on a conference directory, not a SWIFT mandate to settle in XRP.
THE PATH TO THE SHOW FLOOR
- April 8, 2025: Ripple announces a $1.25 billion purchase of prime broker Hidden Road, later rebranded Ripple Prime, with plans to use the firm for repo access and institutional clearing.
- October 16, 2025: Ripple announces the $1 billion GTreasury deal, its stated door into Fortune 500 treasury desks, after Hidden Road and stablecoin platform Rail.
- April 1, 2026: Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury go to general availability, putting XRP and RLUSD on the same screen as cash.
- September 28, 2026: Sibos opens in Miami, with Ripple Treasury on the floor as a cash, forecast, risk and payments system rather than as a token booth.
Grape’s line on the appearance is the accurate one. There is no fresh product drop timed to the conference. Ripple is putting a corporate treasury suite, now able to hold XRP and RLUSD, in front of the people who already fly to Sibos to buy bank software.
Garlinghouse said at the GTreasury announcement that money had been stuck in slow payments systems, and that the combined stack should let teams put trapped capital to work and process payments instantly. Hidden Road was named in that same release as the path into the global repo market. The Miami booth is where that pitch meets working treasurers, not where $13 trillion changes rails overnight.
Why the XRP Chart Never Noticed
A treasury-management system can report $13 trillion and still leave XRP untouched, because the figure counts payments the software instructed banks to send. ACH credits, wires and SWIFT messages can all clear inside that total. XRP only enters if a treasurer holds it, spends it or uses it as a bridge, and Digital Asset Accounts only made that option native in April.
That is the gap Grape named, even as he argued people were watching the wrong chart.
Thirteen trillion, and the price chart never noticed. No new product announcement here. Just Ripple putting corporate treasury in front of the institutions that already attend Sibos. That’s how adoption happens. Quietly, in a convention center, one treasury team at a time.
Grape, XRP Ledger validator, September 7, 2026
The louder error around his post is treating bank-rail throughput as token turnover. SWIFT on that map is an amber legacy pipe the TMS already speaks. J.P. Morgan is a balance API. Goldman Sachs is a fund portal. Those boxes can sit on a diagram with XRP and RLUSD without a dollar of the 2025 file having touched a ledger.
Ripple’s own April language supports the split. Digital Asset Accounts, the company said, extended trusted infrastructure into digital assets for the first time. If the 2025 volume had already been an XRP print, that sentence would not have been the news.
The Five-Year On-Chain Target
Garlinghouse used Consensus 2026 in Miami to put a number on the conversion job. He said he expects about 30% of Ripple Treasury’s $13 trillion yearly payment volume to move on-chain within five years, and he described the shift as staged rather than a hard cutover. Thirty percent of $13 trillion is $3.9 trillion a year if that share ever lands.
He illustrated the pain with a cross-border fuel bill that can take four days and a single correspondent bank. RLUSD is the cash leg Ripple wants inside that workflow, with XRP available in the same account. Repo access through Ripple Prime is the idle-cash pitch sitting next to it. None of those products, on the company’s own telling, had carried the 2025 TMS file.
Five years also means the Miami booth is a sales call, not a finish line. A treasurer can leave G034 with a demo of XRP sitting next to dollars and still approve next month’s vendor batch on the same wires as last year. The software now makes the other choice visible. Visibility is not flow.
Sibos doors open September 28 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The people walking hall G will see a cash platform that can hold XRP, built on a GTreasury book that already moved $13 trillion the old way. The chart will notice when that book starts to clear on a ledger, not when another architecture map makes the rounds.
