Harbor Freight’s SEMA Bet Still Waits on a 2027 Cab

Harbor Freight previewed ICON, HERCULES and BADLAND tools at SEMA 2025, some for 2027. By September 2026 the G2 roll cab was still unpriced.

Harbor Freight used the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to preview house-brand tools, including an ICON G2 roll cab that will not reach stores until 2027. The Calabasas, California, company stacked ICON, HERCULES, BADLAND, DAYTONA, and U.S. GENERAL products in booth 38087 in the Upper South Hall and told the room some of those SKUs sit on a two-year clock.

Brad Cohan, divisional vice president of merchandising, said automotive professionals and enthusiasts want more performance, innovation, and value, and that Harbor Freight is delivering. SEMA draws more than 161,000 attendees a year, including people from over 140 countries and about 3,300 media badges.

A Booth Full of Tools You Could Not Buy

The show ran November 4-7, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hours were 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 4-6 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 7. Visitors could handle the steel. They could not take the flagship pieces home.

Harbor Freight’s own booth tour, posted the first day of the show, walks the floor in about two and a half minutes. Hercules cordless tools lead. Vulcan and Titanium welders sit nearby. Then the camera stops on the cabinet the company was not ready to sell.

The host calls the ICON G2 72-inch roll cab one of his favorites at the show, then says it is still in development and that the company brought it to gather customer feedback. New drawer latches and extra-deep 30-inch drawers are the talking points. The same tour flags five Manix Cobra rears already in stores, plus a 1/2-inch ICON general service set joining the 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch versions already out.

The company’s SEMA hub also listed videos from the 2025 booth for Hercules batteries, Daytona wheel dollies, an ICON TPMS kit, Roadshock’s 8-switch panel, Badland off-road jack mounts, and three Hercules DA polishers. ICON green storage and three new U.S. General mini-toolbox colors sat in the same mix. It was a catalog shoot with a trade-show badge, not a clearance table.

The ICON G2 Cab Is Dated for 2027

On November 6, 2025, Harbor Freight put a date on the cabinet. The ICON G2 72 in. x 30 in. Professional Roll Cab will arrive in stores and online in 2027, and only at Harbor Freight. That is the long side of the bet: show the box at SEMA, take notes, and make shops wait more than a year.

THE G2 ROLL CAB, AS SHOWN

  • Drawer slides: Premium ball-bearing slides rated to 265 lb. per pair.
  • Power drawer: An integrated drawer to keep tools charged.
  • Latches: Pull-forward latches for a controlled open.
  • Top row: Three ultrawide top drawers.
  • Layout: Adjustable, modular drawers plus a parts organizer.
  • Close: Self-closing slides so drawers finish shut.
  • Build: Double-wall steel, powder-coat finish, and an interchangeable lock with a security-milled key.

Cohan had already framed the week around storage colors, polishers, and a broader pro-value pitch. The cabinet is the piece that makes that pitch expensive in time, not just in dollars.

From new tool storage colors to professional polishers, and more innovations ahead, we’re redefining what value in professional-grade tools looks like.

Brad Cohan, Divisional Vice President of Merchandising, Harbor Freight

Shops that want the G2 box still have the current ICON cabs, and they still have U.S. General. They do not have this generation’s 30-inch depth, power drawer, and 265 lb. slides in a stocked SKU. Harbor Freight left that gap on purpose.

Which SEMA 2025 Tools Are in Stores Now?

Harbor Freight did not put the whole booth on a 2027 calendar. ICON G2 ratchets were dated for spring 2026. Several Hercules 12V and Daytona and Badland items were dated for summer 2026. The 20V impact drivers share the cab’s 2027 window. By September 2026, that split is the story, not the booth photos.

THE SEMA 2025 PIPELINE

Product Window set at SEMA 2025 What Harbor Freight has done since
ICON G2 72 in. x 30 in. Professional Roll Cab 2027 Still dated for 2027; not sold
ICON G2 ratchets (20 previewed) Spring 2026 On sale; 15 more G2 models launched June 29, 2026
HERCULES 20V 1/4 in. impact drivers (standard and right angle) 2027 Still dated for 2027
HERCULES 12V ratchets with interchangeable anvils Summer 2026 Still being asked about in early September 2026
DAYTONA 3-ton Super Duty jack, racing metallic blue Summer 2026 Dated for summer 2026; other metallics already in the line
BADLAND ZXR 15,000 lb. winch Summer 2026 Dated for summer 2026; booth video said the next year
BADLAND 6-ton off-road jack stands Shown at the booth Later introduced as a lineup add

The table is a two-speed catalog. Ratchets and some recovery gear were allowed to move. The cabinet and the new 20V drivers were not. Anyone who treated SEMA week as a shopping list learned the difference in 2026.

Fifteen G2 Ratchets Joined the Lineup in June

On November 5, 2025, Harbor Freight previewed 20 professional ICON G2 ratchets at SEMA, in stubby, flex-head, comfort-grip, and fixed-head sizes. All of them use split-pawl guts, a nickel-chrome-moly gear with precision-machined teeth, and a fully sealed head. The company said they were designed and engineered in the USA, carried a lifetime guarantee, and would arrive in stores and online the following spring, only at Harbor Freight.

That spring window held. G2 ratchets began reaching stores in spring 2026. Then, on June 29, 2026, Harbor Freight announced a launch of 15 highly-anticipated ratchets in standard, flex, stubby, and long-reach versions. The June drop spans 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, and 1/2-inch drives, including a 3-1/4 in. stubby flex, 14 in. long-reach flex heads, and 18 in. 1/2-inch long-reach flex heads, some with comfort grips.

That is the 2026 half of the bet paying out in steel you can hold. A mechanic who waited from November until June got more G2 head shapes, not a speech about patience. The June note also sold the line as quality and value against the competition, which is how ICON has been pitched since it stopped being a rumor and started being a drawer of sealed ratchets.

Owners who already live in the ICON and Hercules aisles now talk about those lines the way they used to talk about Milwaukee, DeWalt, or a tool-truck brand, and they still warn friends off the cheapest Harbor Freight bin. The G2 ratchet drop feeds that split. It also leaves the G2 cab looking late next to a ratchet you can buy on a Saturday.

Hercules 20V Drivers Are Dated for 2027

The other 2027 pile is cordless. On November 5, 2025, Harbor Freight showed two new 20V HERCULES 1/4 in. brushless impact drivers and said both would be in stores and online in 2027, only at Harbor Freight.

The right-angle model uses a 90-degree head for corners, cabinets, and tight engine bays. Head height is 2.4 in. Peak torque is 1000 in-lbs at 3000 RPM, with three ring LEDs, three speeds, and an Auto Mode meant to limit stripped fasteners. The inline 1/4 in. driver is rated up to 2200 in-lbs, with three speeds, Auto Mode, a flashlight mode, a variable-speed trigger, and all-metal gears.

Those two tools are the long wait on the power-tool wall. A separate Hercules video from the same booth dated a mid-torque 1/2 in. impact wrench and a compact wrench for fall 2026, which is a shorter clock than 2027 and a longer clock than the G2 ratchets. Harbor Freight is not running one launch season. It is running three.

The 12V side was supposed to be the middle. On November 4, 2025, the company previewed a 12V brushless impact driver rated up to 1500 in-lbs and 12V ratchets with interchangeable anvils in standard and extended lengths. The ratchets were rated up to 50 ft-lbs, 0-450 RPM, with a sealed head and a low-profile design, and they were dated for stores and online the following summer. In early September 2026, after that summer window, buyers were still asking Harbor Freight for an ETA. The 2027 drivers at least came with an honest year. The 12V ratchets came with a season that did not close cleanly.

Daytona Blue and Badland Stands Moved Faster

Color and recovery were the faster aisle. On November 5, 2025, Harbor Freight introduced a DAYTONA 3-ton low-profile Super Duty floor jack in racing metallic blue, with RAPID PUMP, a rubber saddle pad, and a claimed lift from 3 3/4 inches to 23 1/8 inches at up to 6,000 lbs. The jack is built to ASME/PASE portable service rules, and Harbor Freight dated the blue version for the following summer. Other metallic colors already in the family are green, purple, candy apple red, sunburst orange, and yellow, a set that includes the metallic red Daytona 3-ton jack shops already know.

Badland took the off-road corner. The company previewed a ZXR 15,000 lb. winch with 90 ft. of 7/16 in. wire rope, a 10 in. x 4.5 in. mounting pattern, and a control box that can sit in three positions, and dated it for summer 2026. A short booth clip told viewers to look for it the next year at a local store. Harbor Freight also showed 6-ton off-road jack stands and 1-1/2-ton and 3-ton off-road jack mounts that can hang vertical or horizontal. The 6-ton stands later got a proper lineup introduction, which is how you can tell a preview turned into a SKU.

Storage color was the other quick win. U.S. General Series 3 boxes in purple were shown in 42, 27, 72, and 56-inch sizes, with purple accessories behind them. Mini toolboxes were lined up in slate gray, purple, and green. That purple wave matches the purple U.S. General tool cabinets Harbor Freight has already put on the floor. Paint you can buy beats a 2027 cabinet you can only lean on at a show.

The 2026 half of the booth also fits the company’s separate stack of five major tools dated for 2026. SEMA was not a one-week surprise. It was the public calendar for a pipeline the chain had already started to drip out.

Las Vegas Gets the Next Harbor Freight Preview on Nov. 3

The 2026 SEMA Show is returning to Las Vegas Nov. 3-6 at the same convention center, with Tuesday through Thursday hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. close on Friday. That is the next time Harbor Freight can put unfinished steel in front of 161,000 people and ask them to wait again.

The G2 ratchets already on the wall are the proof that a SEMA date can mean a store date. The 72-inch G2 cab and the 20V Hercules drivers are the proof that it can also mean 2027. If the chain repeats the 2025 trick, the booth will again hold tools that are for sale, tools dated for the next summer, and at least one object you can open, photograph, and still not buy.
