Pixel 11 Pre-Orders Open Eight Hours Before the Event

Google Store and Best Buy countdowns put Pixel 11 and Pro Fold pre-orders live at 7 a.m. PT on August 12, eight hours before the Made by Google show.

Google Store and Best Buy countdown clocks now point to Pixel 11 series pre-orders opening at 7:00 a.m. PT on August 12, a full eight hours before the Made by Google livestream begins at 3:00 p.m. PT the same day. Buyers can lock in hardware before the keynote ever starts.

The gap is wider than last year’s one-hour window. Fans who want the standard flagship or the newly teased Pixel 11 Pro Fold can finish checkout and skip the afternoon production entirely.

The Morning Drop Hits First

Retail landing pages make the sequence plain. The Google Store homepage countdown clock and the matching Best Buy timer both expire at 7:00 a.m. PT (10:00 a.m. ET). Pre-orders for the full Pixel 11 lineup are expected to go live at that moment.

The Made by Google event itself is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. PT (6:00 p.m. ET) from New York. That leaves an eight-hour stretch between the product becoming available and the stage show.

  • 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET, Pre-order windows open on Google Store and major retailers
  • 3:00 p.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. ET, Made by Google livestream begins
  • Japan timing, Pre-orders at 23:00 JST August 12, event at 07:00 JST August 13

Google is also dangling an exclusive offer for new email signups on the Pixel 11 magazine page. New subscribers who signed up between July 15 and August 7 receive a promotional code emailed August 11, redeemable on the Google Store for advertised Pixel 11 devices through August 27 while supplies last. US residents 18 and older only, one per customer.

Last Year’s Gap Was Just One Hour

For the Pixel 10 series in 2025, Google released details and opened pre-orders around 9:00 a.m. PT and ran the Made by Google event at 10:00 a.m. PT. Press and buyers had roughly sixty minutes of head start before the celebrity-hosted show.

This year’s schedule stretches that window eightfold. The practical effect is that the morning drop becomes the de facto product launch. Specs, pricing, colors and availability hit the web while most of the country is still finishing coffee. The evening livestream then functions more as celebration and demo reel than first-look reveal.

Droid Life noted the pattern shift directly: Google appears ready to show the devices, take a long break, then host an evening event. After last year’s format, some buyers already plan to treat the afternoon as optional.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Steps Into the Tease Cycle

Alongside the countdown, Google released a 15-second teaser confirming the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The clip follows the same “Ask more of your phone” style used for the Pixel 11 Pro teaser a week earlier.

To switch phones, you have to be open to what’s new. And to what opens.

The line, released by Google and reported by 9to5Google, plays on the foldable form. At the five-second mark the video shows a redesigned pill-shaped camera island protruding from the rear glass. Technical specs stay hidden, but the existence of the device and its place on the August 12 stage are no longer rumors.

The Fold joins the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL. All four models are expected to share the morning pre-order window.

What Leaks Already Put on the Table

Because pre-orders open before the keynote, most shoppers will rely on the dense leak cycle that has already filled in prices and hardware. Android Headlines published an exclusive specs and pricing rundown that other outlets have cross-checked against European and US chatter.

Model US Starting Price Display Key Camera / Battery Notes
Pixel 11 $899 6.3-inch Actua OLED, 60-120Hz, 3000 nits 48MP main + 13MP ultrawide; 4985 mAh; 30W wired
Pixel 11 Pro $1,099 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO, 1-120Hz, 3600 nits 50MP main + 48MP UW + 48MP 5x tele; 4850 mAh
Pixel 11 Pro XL $1,299 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO, 1-120Hz, 3600 nits Same triple camera; 5115 mAh; 45W wired
Pixel 11 Pro Fold $1,899 Folding inner + cover displays (exact sizes still leak-dependent) Expected Tensor G6; pricing ~$100 above prior Fold

All models are expected to run the Tensor G6 and Titan M3 security chip on Android 17. Base storage is widely reported to start at 256 GB, dropping the old 128 GB tier. RAM figures in the exclusive set list 12 GB and 16 GB options; some other leaks have flagged possible base-RAM cuts on Pro models relative to Pixel 10. Treat every unconfirmed number as provisional until Google posts final pages at 7 a.m. PT.

European pricing in the same leak set starts roughly €100 higher across the board. Color names circulating include Fuchsia, Moss, Pine and Midnight Haze, though official names land with the drop.

Retailers and Early Buyers Move First

Best Buy’s Best Buy Pixel 11 series landing page mirrors the Google Store timer and already invites sign-ups for exclusive offers. That alignment gives big-box and carrier partners the same morning start as Google’s own channel.

The pattern is not brand-new for Google hardware. Earlier this cycle the company let the Pixel Watch 5 appeared in the Health app before any stage confirmation. Early listings and countdowns have become a regular way to seed demand and clear inventory friction before the lights go up.

Stats snapshot for August 12 morning:

  • 8-hour head start, Pre-orders live before any keynote demo
  • $100 price step-ups, Leaked base and Fold increases versus Pixel 10 generation
  • 256 GB floor, Base storage doubled on multiple reports
  • Four models at once, Standard, Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold share the window

Shoppers who already know their preferred configuration can finish the transaction, apply trade-ins or financing, and walk away. Those waiting for hands-on camera samples or software demos still have the afternoon show. The split audience is the second-order result of the schedule.

The Livestream Becomes Optional Theater

Once pricing and availability are public at 7 a.m., the 3 p.m. PT event no longer holds monopoly power over first impressions. Press can publish full reviews of the store pages and unboxing queues can form while the stage is still dark. Social reaction will peak in the morning; the livestream then serves Gemini demos, celebrity bits and longer camera walkthroughs for anyone still watching.

Google Japan’s official post framed the local clocks cleanly and pushed the Fold teaser with the same “open” language. Engagement on English-language posts about the early window has been quieter so far, but the practical conversation on forums already treats August 12 morning as order day. After last year’s longer celebrity production, the decision to skip the afternoon feels low-risk for many.

Nothing stops Google from dropping final surprise features or software exclusives on stage. Yet the hardware that people actually buy will already be on sale for most of the workday. That is the concrete change from the one-hour Pixel 10 precedent.

Keep the Google Store and Best Buy tabs ready for 7:00 a.m. PT on August 12. The phones go first. The show comes later.
